We are not sure rambunctious Barkeeps (the second venture for the owners of Maklemores) has yet found its niche, with its something-for-everyone menu, but it is a welcome development in this college town. We started with the garlic-seared edamame (messy but yummy) and the firecracker shrimp, tempura-battered and tossed in spicy gochujang aioli. Taking a lighter course for entrées, we tried the steak salad: tenderloin over mixed greens with crumbled paneer, local tomatoes, onions, avocado, and a sweet chile balsamic. If this salad is an indicator of how steak is prepared here, we might have to choose the filet mignon on our next go-round, though the curry-based dishes look enticing as well.
