A passionate following keeps this Near Southside truck hopping, meaning there’s always a crowd. But rather than wait in line, the crew urges diners to hang at a nearby bar (HopFusion Ale Works is our pick) and place their orders online for delivery to their chosen watering hole table. On our last visit, we found ample pleasure in the Bottle Kat, a towering construction of fried jalapeño spears, bacon strips, and L-T-O atop the griddled burger patty, covered in melted pepper jack and a surprisingly good barbecue ranch on toasted brioche. We know to arrive early to get a mushroom-bacon-Swiss melt (it sells out most days), another brioche-framed burger garnished with caramelized onions and sautéed mushrooms, spread with herbed aioli and slathered with jalapeño-bacon jam for smoky-sweet effect. Double-fried hand-cut french fries are a must, particularly if available with the Vietnamese veggie garnish.
