In a cozy setting accented with beautiful works by the late twin artists Scott and Stuart Gentling, Olenjack marries comfort with fresh ingredients with much success. A vegetarian joy is the hearty grilled lion’s mane mushroom in a tart tomato broth with color and crunch coming from sautéed haricots verts, baby spinach, broccolini, multicolored baby carrots, and beets. Seared, satin-centered arctic char, nestled on a pillow of velvety butternut squash puree, hits all the right notes. A pronounced wow factor comes with the board bearing a grilled long-bone pork chop with sweet potato gratin and a crisp apple-and-fennel slaw with crumbled blue cheese.
