With just a few tables inside and out, chef-owner Lisa Astorga-Watel’s charming bistro holds forth at suppertime and weekend brunch with food that does for the plate what the pop art decor does for ambience. Think cotton candy in your mimosa, eggs Benedict atop chilaquiles with green sauce, lamb “cigars,” and more. All on the plus side: seasonal specials, knowledgeable unpretentious service (Lisa often stops in to chat with diners), and a congenial vibe well suited to the nearby King William neighborhood. Our recent brunch was more than satisfying with those famous Benedicts, a pile of fab fries, and a tender, buttery lobster tail.
