After a day of treasure hunting at Canton’s famous First Monday Trade days, we were sorely in need of comfort food and were so happy to revisit Buttermilk’s. As one must when indulging in Southern food, we began with the crispy fried green tomatoes. The daily special of fried catfish was rewarding as well; we paired that with bacon-braised green beans and red potatoes, creamed and mashed. Because we felt we had earned a treat after trekking from one end of the gigantic flea market to the other, we finished with the buttermilk chess pie and a steaming cup of coffee.
