This unassuming family-owned eatery is quite popular with locals thanks to lunch specials like the nearly foot-long burrito stuffed with shredded chicken breast or picadillo or the taquitos with carnitas (some of the best we’ve eaten in an eighty-mile radius). The parrillada is a sizzling platter of beef, chicken, and shrimp or carnitas and chorizo, piled with sautéed onions, bell peppers, and mushrooms and accompanied by bowls of rice, beans, pico, and guacamole salad. The staff is friendly and so is the weekday happy hour. Pro tip: always request the green sauce: fresh jalapeños pureed with fiery serranoes for extra heat.
