Busy Fredericksburg Road has a plethora of Thai restaurants, but we think this is the best of the bunch. The floral name predicts the aromatic notes in many dishes (basil is used in abundance), starting with crisp veggie-filled summer rolls and proceeding through the menu of curries, noodles, and salads. Plan on eating family style; portions are plentiful, even for lunch specials, like the crunchy rice-based nam tah dear. The extensive menu includes choose-your-protein Thai classics (like coconut cream–based green curry and pad thai) along with some pan-Asian specialties (Mongolian beef stir-fry, spicy Bangkok fried rice). The bright, orderly dining room attracts an assortment of families, medical professionals, and foodies. Tip: the spice is for real; we were challenged by level three.
