There’s one on just about every block in NYC. In Dallas, there are just a few. But if you want the real deli experience, sit down in this no-nonsense room and sample an ABC sandwich of New York rye bread, mountainous layers of corned beef, pastrami, Swiss cheese, coleslaw (yes, for crunch), and thousand island dressing. The potato salad on this plate was more mashed than chunky and had a sweet taste; we were told that it was a Russian recipe. The last piece of seven-layer cake had just been sold, so we settled for Hungarian apple strudel with a dusting of cinnamon.
