There’s nothing flashy or design-y at this longtime favorite for Tex-Mex comfort food. There’s just a local family cooking and serving dishes that have been savored by nearby residents for more than fifty years. Sink into a plate of chicken enchiladas covered in a creamy, just-tart-enough salsa verde. Cheese enchiladas, with or without chili, are immensely satisfying, as is the traditional chile relleno. Everything is served with rice, slightly spicy refried beans, and subtly sweet salsa. The guacamole, alas, leaves a lot to be desired. Note that only cash and checks are accepted.
