“Mexican high cuisine” is how family-owned and -operated Mirasol bills itself, and the kitchen delivers. Your meal will feel particularly festive if you land a spot on the patio—covered and heated for winter, even. (The low-ceilinged dining room can be a bit noisy and claustrophobic.) If you like creamy, Colonial-inspired Mexican dishes, with the light bite of cilantro and green chiles or the earthy tang of smoky chipotle, you’ll be pleased with the extensive menu: enchiladas, taquitos, chiles en nogada, rajas—all swimming in crema and chiles worth the house-made tortillas on order. Seafood also ranks high as a favorite with the neighborly clientele. El Mirasol is a great place to share some antojitos and margaritas, and the service is friendly, competent, and efficient. A newer location has opened at the Alon, with a similar menu.
