Dining Guide
Elements
The industrial ceiling, gray walls, and granite bar backed by an artsy tiled backsplash let diners know this is no ordinary cafe. Try the excellent tempura-battered calamari, which arrives crispy and tender, or the lobster “popcornet,” a waffle cone studded with popcorn and filled with butter-poached lobster topped with chile powder and caramel sauce—a little sweet but interesting. Peking duck served atop masa waffles with foie gras butter and smoked maple syrup is rich and yummy, but the star of the show is the ribeye taco—flavorful, meaty beef ensconced in freshly made corn tortillas with avocado mousse and spicy salsa crudo.
