This surprising downtown tavern, complete with carefully curated pinball paraphernalia, offers seriously satisfying food. The specialty is wildly inventive and irreverent hot dogs, anchored by quality meats and topped with everything from sauerkraut and crushed chips to a whole tamale and sour cream. Our favorite was a pepperjack-and-garlic sausage topped with cucumber wasabi mayo, pickled ginger, and avocado. A draft list and cocktail menu as eclectic as the decor are worth trying, but take it easy—you need to save room for a rotating selection of scratch desserts, especially the subtly spiced pumpkin cheesecake with a toasty brown crust.
