We loaded up on napkins, expecting the meatball sandwich, like so many, to be, well, drippy or squirty. Not so—the pizza dough wrapper held the house-made ball of ground beef and marinara sauce securely. That meatball also plays a starring role in the delicious penne pasta, rich with stringy cheese. Though the high ceilings and solid floor still echo a bit in the evening, when the pizza-loving crowd troops in, gone are the energetic music videos that used to blare. And, blessing of blessings, the place is open on Mondays when so many others are shuttered!
