Yes, the sushi was excellent, flavorful and beautifully presented, with plenty of variation. Yes, the New York strip was perfectly medium rare. And yes, these were the highlights of our meal. But what we can’t forget is that even the broccoli in our bento box was perfectly cooked, and wonderfully complemented with a teriyaki sauce that was neither too sweet nor too thick. With this level of detail, finesse, and skill, Hayashi Midtown has recovered from the fire and is on its way to being one of Lubbock’s best.
