Dining Guide

Holy Roller

If gluttony is one of the seven deadly sins, this punk rock–chic West 6th locale is doing all it can to make sure your indulgence is worth the guilt. Our first infraction was an appetizer of chocolate soft-serve ice cream with salty french fries, which conjured up sentimental memories of dipping golden potatoes in a certain fast-food chain’s frosty treat. Though tempted by pancakes topped with fried chicken and sriracha butter, we opted for the big Bombshell Burger, complete with a layer of gooey American cheese, ham, crispy hashbrowns, and a fried egg. Our favorite item was probably the crispy fried chicken over a honey-butter biscuit with fried egg and Mississippi-style creamy comeback sauce. The dishes can be a little heavy-handed, obviously, but they’re fun when they work.
