The vibe is still hip and festive at this downtown spot for interior Mexican. From a comfy booth in the main dining room, we took our server’s advice on a couple of house margaritas and a smoky mezcal old-fashioned. Queso flameado served with hand-made corn tortillas offered gooey, garlicky deliciousness, as did a bowl of creamy, cold, citrusy guacamole adorned with cilantro and fresh tomato and served with crispy blue corn tostadas. Roasted chicken in a rich mole negro was tender and juicy, while carne asada was almost overshadowed by a spicy mole amarillo with morsels of crispy sweet potatoes.
