La Gloria Dominion
On a nice day, the patio hops with families and celebratory groups downing margaritas; the playground fills with paleta-seeking kids; and welded folk-art mariachis inspire selfies. Then the food arrives, best shared, most on small plates. Start with a molcajete filled with bubbling queso in tomato sauce or the arrachera en adobo, tender with just the right amount of heat from the chile pasilla sauce. We go for the al pastor tacos and a ceviche or seafood cocktail, always perfectly fresh and the ideal foil for chef Johnny Hernandez’s custom chips, made from masa produced in his local molino. As with the Pearl location, you won’t sit for long without tapping your toes and ordering more chips and salsa.
