Fans of chef Michael Ehlert, who previously headed kitchens at the French Room and Mirador, will love his new place in far North Dallas. It’s a departure for a chef with formal training, but Ehlert’s signature enchiladas—wrapped in house-made blue corn tortillas, presented with elegant sauces, and topped with diminutive crumbles of cheese and local microgreens—are as gorgeous and delicious as anything from those white-tablecloth venues. Order this to go: the grilled shrimp taco with jalapeño honey as a starter, the orange-pepper carnitas enchiladas as a main, and a Mexican wedding cookie for dessert. Pro tip: Excellent sides include the Mexican fried rice and the elote on a stick.
