Offering a vast selection of salads, sandwiches, and entrées to go, Local Foods, in Tanglewood, also has limited seating inside and on the patio too. The menu ranges from especially healthy (power grains bowl) to rather indulgent (Tex-Mex cheesesteak with garlic fries). Order this to go: Chicken enchiladas take care of Mexican food cravings, while chicken or beef pot pies—in gorgeous golden crusts—are a harbinger of cool weather. Thai peanut pasta salad proves thoroughly addictive, and the chicken salad with rotini pasta and spinach gets a creamy goat cheese finish. So far, big winners for reheatable Drive-Up Dinners (below) include the cracked-pepper tenderloin steak topped with poached shrimp; also the wood-grilled salmon and halibut with a chilled asparagus, green bean, and artichoke salad. Pro tip: The Drive-Up Dinner (pick up curbside between 4 and 6 Wednesday through Friday) is a great bargain, with three courses for two for $30. Orders must be placed by 5 on Wednesday.
