One block off the Bellaire bustle, this Chinatown newbie has quickly won a following. Sultry interiors with industrial lighting and nostalgic Chinese graphics set the stage for an exceptional meal of Cantonese fare with pan-Asian influences. At lunch, the space was full of Asian ladies who lunch and smaller parties of business types enjoying noodles of every sort served by friendly young waiters. While we perused the lengthy menu (in English, with pictures), we shared tender chicken satay, nicely seasoned and grilled. We overordered with three more dishes but were delighted with our sliced pork stir-fried with mushrooms and pretty rounds of crunchy lotus root, eggplant spears with minced pork and green onions in a spicy garlic sauce, and crispy fried salt-and-pepper shrimp (shells on).
