Having thrived since moving to its new location several years ago, Mesa Street is adding new menu items to keep things fresh. The Fred Flintstone–size short rib, a slab of tender beef on the bone nestled in creamy mashed potatoes, boasts hints of garlic and fresh herbs. The equally tasty, albeit more reasonably portioned, cheesesteak sandwich is served on a fresh hoagie with grilled peppers and onions, melted mozzarella cheese, and tender, well-trimmed meat. Favorites such as the avocado fries—panko crusted, deep fried, and served with a spicy chipotle mayo—remain menu staples, and don’t forget the glassed-in wine room; it’s perfect for intimate dinner parties.
