Michi Ramen [South]
Ramen noodles may never compete with pizza, but new food-delivery apps have made it possible to enjoy almost any restaurant meal in your pajamas. Michi’s new south location is capitalizing on this trend; it’s takeout or delivery only. It also thumbs its nose at the competition, because there are no rules to the ramen. Cold Taiwanese ramen comes with a tahini dressing that transforms the ramen into sesame noodles. An extra-stout Sapporo ramen broth is especially unctuous (at home you can see just how much pork fat is in it, which is quite a wake-up call). Adding too many toppings can result in a spendy bowl, but don’t miss the savory soy-cooked ajitama egg and/or the soft onsen egg with its seductive gooey yolk.
