Ming’s Noodle Bar

Another food truck success, Ming’s moved up to a black-and-red boxcar in the Yard last spring and, from its tiny kitchen, manages some of the best Chinese (and other Asian) noodles in town (we got hooked on the pork belly version first spoon in). There’s a wide variety, both wet and dry (rice, wheat, buckwheat), and a just-right array of toppings (spices, egg, meats) beautifully served. From tofu to grilled octopus, the ingredients and combinations seem almost unlimited. There’s also a changing roster of tender-toothy steamed buns and other dim sum, depending on what the chef feels is right for the season. Inside seating is limited—most folks perch at a counter decked out with Chinese posters and blackboard graffiti—but there’s a patio too, for when weather permits.
