Monkey King started in Deep Ellum, about seven years ago, and then quickly brought its popular dumplings, wonton soups, and stir-fries to locations in Richardson, Lake Highlands, and (soon) Grapevine. Order this to go: The chicken soup with house-made noodles is perfect to take home, and the pork dumplings are huge and hearty, with plenty to share. A family-size dish of brisket fried rice is made with yummy burnt ends from Terry Black’s BBQ. Pro tip: The Lake Highlands outlet is tucked away next to Alamo Drafthouse. Like its Richardson sibling, it has fried rice specialties you won’t see downtown.
