“Dressed AUS hiramasa”: the menu description at this pleasant seafood house reads like code, but it is in fact referring to small slices of yellowtail kingfish from Australia dressed with ponzu, charred scallions, and delicate pink trout roe. The appetizer whetted our appetite for Montlake’s fish and chips, and while the frying was fine and the chips delectable, the plate mates of tartar sauce and coleslaw were just meh.
