Los Patios, one of the loveliest destinations in the city for dining and shopping, has a new restaurant that’s more than worthy of the tree-sheltered Salado Creek setting. Naco 210 is a brick-and-mortar upgrade from the Nacogdoches food truck where husband-and-wife duo Francisco Estrada and Lizzeth Martinez launched their business three years ago. The menu is both authentic (that overused and often exaggerated term) and innovative, with gluten-free, keto, and vegetarian options holding their own against more traditional dishes. All-day chilaquiles are Mexican style—no eggs, crisp tortillas, and an incredible salsa roja. Our favorite of the tacos was the Angus asada, served with a hint of huitlacoche. Have your tortilla with a grilled “keto cheese crust” or ask for the blue corn version; the tortillas all have the great texture of heirloom corn. Leave room for the key lime “pie” with stacked layers of Mexican Marias cookies.
