Dining Guide

Olive & June

The food served in this multilevel, mid-century-modern space here is comfortable enough for a family dinner but still on point for serious eaters. Chef Shawn Cirkiel makes sure his food does the heavy lifting, a rarity in a town recently overrun with hyper-styled, over-designed spots. Warm bread arrives with ramekins of butter and olive oil after you’re seated, and the courses come quickly and go down even faster: a seasonal salad of pea shoots topped with crunchy hazelnuts and a swipe of hazelnut-flecked ricotta; bucatini with guanciale and slices of garlic in a house-made tomato sauce; seared Gulf snapper, crispy edged and encircled with grilled kale and fresh citrus.
