This popular live music venue in the burgeoning River East district won us over with its thoughtful menu of share plates, even when the stage is dark. Located in a former post office, the venue’s open-air patio bar is perfect for nibbling on a pickled vegetable platter or a baked brie, which is topped with a thin layer of jalapeno-bacon jam and served with buttery crostinis. Grilled marble rye slices framed a layering of sliced, tender pastrami, crunchy sauerkraut, melted Swiss, and piquant Russian dressing for a proper Reuben. Hominy and plump pieces of roasted chicken gave heft and texture to a bowl of addictive green chile pozole. Even classic cocktails are fashioned with creativity.
