Provisions makes us happy with its inventiveness, cheerful hubbub, and capable servers. And we always look forward to the seasonal menu. This time we began by sharing a massive and transfixing stem of brussels sprouts that was deep fried and seasoned with miso aioli. Breads are always a standout; even a simple baguette with salted butter satisfies. A pizza generously dotted with burrata proved rich and comforting, though a latke-like cabbage pancake with subtle smoked salmon and cream cheese took top billing. Tough, forgettable pork belly served with fermented red cabbage and fingerling potatoes was the anomaly of the night, but the finishing touch of chai made to look like a thick fifties soda fountain shake was a tasty beauty. Plus, the cocktails are great.
