Hallelujah! This favorite market/coffeeshop/lunch stop in the Heights has removed the produce racks and expanded its space to allow for a seasonal dinner menu with table service. We devoured our salads—one was watermelon, basil, and feta with lots of fresh corn, and the other was an even better pickled shrimp, avocado and Texas peach salad. How can firm peaches be so juicy and avocados so perfectly ripe? We fought over the buttery just-baked buttermilk biscuits even though they were giants. The winning entrée was the amberjack, a thick, flavorful fish (like a tuna steak but almost white). House made lamb-mint sausage was terrific, but we wished there had been more grits and less jus of greens, which made the whole thing watery.
