Revolver Taco Lounge
We grabbed a seat at the communal table and enjoyed order after order of tacos at Regino Rojas’s hip Deep Ellum taqueria. We love the street-style tacos, but the gourmet options—like duck breast, huitlacoche, and octopus “carnitas”—shouldn’t be missed. Rojas’s family is in the kitchen, including his aunt, whom visitors can watch make the wonderfully rustic corn tortillas. Soul-satisfying salsas, from earthy red chile to tangy tomatillo, and self-serve house-made pickled vegetables (use sparingly!) are perfect condiments. The long chalkboard menu of tequilas and mezcals is impressive.
