Rex’s Seafood at the Market
Anchoring a corner of the Dallas Farmers Market, Rex’s serves all manner of seafood, from opah and walleye to king crab and Alaskan salmon. Diners can sit at the counter, where the wares are proudly displayed in ice-cold cases, or park at a table in the clean, industrial-style space up front. Tempted by all the blackboard specials, we couldn’t pass up the coconut-crusted halibut; the meaty fish was cooked to perfection and drizzled with a smoky-sweet raspberry-chipotle sauce. Visit during happy hour (Monday through Friday, from 3 to 7), when Gulf oysters are $1, premium are $2, and select craft beers are $3.
