Sangria on the Burg
Sangrias set the tone (you can order a flight). And chef-owner Cesar Zepeda offers imaginative and flavorful tacos on really good thick corn tortillas, sliders on tiny sweetish buns, and salads with all kinds of ingredients. Throw in some house-smoked barbecue and a bowl of red and you get the picture. We love the Southern fried chicken strips, particularly on one of those amazing tortillas, and the smoked-then-grilled pork belly with mango pico makes for a great second choice. This is a quirky, one-of-a-kind place, guided by a love of smoked meats and Mexican spice. Note that it’s also quite popular and finding parking can be a challenge; ride share, show the receipt, and get complimentary chips and queso.
