One of the city’s most authentic Chinese restaurants, Sichuan House hasn’t been spoiled by its popularity, and the menu is still right on target for family-style dining and street food snacking, whether you share a platter of oily, mildly spiced green beans (a house favorite), tea-smoked duckling, or spicy garlic shrimp. Our favorite dishes in the extensive menu? Anything with pork belly, scrumptiously slithery eggplant, or salt-and-pepper shrimp. There’s been a recent expansion, and red lanterns overhead add a bit of color, but the focus is definitely on the food, not decor. Service is generally good, but some new staff members were less than knowledgeable on our last visit.
