Dining Guide

Sidesaddle Saloon

Sarah Castillo’s newest effort marries cowgirl heritage with a stylish cocktail lounge in Mule Alley. Try this: A menu of shareable plates is small but mighty, with the toasted sourdough accompanied by country ham, pimento cheese, and pickled veggies a worthy start. Lush green goddess dressing with crisp vegetable crudités and lemony hummus works nicely, especially alongside confit duck tacos with cotija and salsa verde. Libations we love include the RosieLeeta Reed, blending rye, amaro, and jasmine liqueur, and the Wilma Mankiller, a pretty creation of vodka with dry curaçao, hibiscus syrup, and fresh lime. Pro tip: There’s patio seating at the ready, and live music is served up on Sunday afternoons.
