Southerleigh Fine Food & Brewery
Something between a Gulf Coast dock and a Galveston alehouse, this repurposed (and revived) brew room, with a kitchen full of cooks with pirate-style beards, captures the spirit of adventure. The menu is a modern riff on Southern cookery, with a breezy seafood spin. At lunch, the kitchen offers several choices, among them a fabulous snapper sandwich. Sides, particularly the crab mac and cheese and the homey deviled eggs, make waves too. For something lighter, the ahi tuna and Texas caviar salad with a seasonal punch (lavender, just now) is quite the catch.
