Susaki Sushi Steakhouse
Sharable food is the highlight of this low-lit and sparsely decorated west-side eatery. We started with pork gyoza dumplings and tender-crisp tempura asparagus livened up with ponzu and spicy mayo. Sushi offerings are affordable and come in a dazzling variety. We loved the Snow Mountain roll, a house specialty loaded with soft-shell crab and avocado and topped with spicy tuna. While far from classic, another standout was the aptly named Mr. Mango, a sweet, spicy, colorful mix of king crab, tempura, avocado, and mango. More-restrained rolls were well presented, if a little bland, but we found the wasabi scallop maki fresh and flavorful.
