If you’re a fan of Deep Sushi, but you kinda hate parking in Deep Ellum, then head over to this new spot in Mockingbird Station, right next to the Angelika. Chef Armando Ramirez worked at Deep Sushi; now he’s running this place, offering the same skillful combinations of clean, fresh seafood in both classic rolls and creative signature items, such as the riceless Armando roll, with crab and truffle oil, and the Green Dragon, with tempura-fried sweet potato and grilled asparagus. Deep-fried soft-shell crab was a winning appetizer, as was the ahi tower with avocado and mango and the wok-seared pork-and-veggie-filled gyoza dumplings.
