A charming revamp of an old Austin favorite, this Clarksville bakery has customers lining up to sample salads, deli sandwiches, and baked goods. We pulled a ticket at the counter and waited to be called as we perused the deli case. We opted for a “salad” trio of sweet and spicy grilled peaches laced with flecks of dried habanero, roasted golden beets with fresh herbs, and a petite bowl of baby field peas in a tangy chile brine. The egg salad BLT was a little lighter on the egg salad than we had hoped, but the house-cured bacon and creamy avocado made up for it. Though the smoked-and-roasted-beef plate featured perfectly rare meat, juicy and delicious with a vinegary salsa verde, our favorite was the spicy chicken salad sandwich on ciabatta. Don’t skip a fresh-baked treat. We suggest the flaky peach galette. (Fridays offer a four-course “market dinner,” by reservation.)
