The Creek Cafe
Located in a truly vintage shopping strip in Old Lakewood, this tiny, no-frills counter-order kitchen is one of a kind, serving American breakfast and brunch all day, along with eclectic and homey Japanese dishes. On a quiet Sunday morning, we ordered the light and delicious Popeye spinach omelet (with extra avocado). Our friend’s onigiri (rice ball) special came in a little sweet-tasting crepe cup with a few edamame thrown in for good measure. Though it takes twenty to thirty minutes to bake them, the lavishly decorated Choco Banana Fluffy Japanese Pancakes are well worth the wait. Next time we’re trying the Japanese vegetable curry and a burger.
