This upscale eatery in downtown’s Farmers Market comes from Taqueria Taxco, a longtime East Dallas favorite. Promising “un toque de Mexico,” the kitchen delivers with an array of creative dishes, such as flaky chicken empanadas, a Trompo Tower (a multi-tiered presentation of twenty to thirty small tacos), and a very good chile relleno, served with potato-filled taquitos. The posole was a happy discovery, the tender hominy melding with bits of pork and big slices of avocado (though it, like the menudo, is reserved for weekends). Seafood, tortas, and burgers also are on offer. Two patios provide plenty of open-air seating, and potent half-price margaritas are a draw for happy hour.
