Dining Guide

The Theodore

Named for Teddy Roosevelt, this comfortable, casual space at NorthPark Center is the brainchild of Smoke’s Tim Byres. Smartly designed, the room boasts dusky blues with pops of green, vintage knicknacks lining built-in shelves, and a welcoming brasserie-style bar. Based on the knowledgeable advice of a foodie friend, we went all out and ordered the beef Wellington (an item not often seen on menus): a velvety chunk of roasted filet mignon topped with minced mushrooms and foie gras encased in buttery pastry with a lovely accompanying dollop of creamy mashed potatoes. Pretty darn luxurious for a mall restaurant.
