Tucked behind the San Antonio Museum of Art in the historic Beretta Hops House and perched above the River Walk, this airy spot offers some of the best outdoor dining in the city; the covered outside patio is perhaps twice the size of the inside dining room, decked out in taupe, gray, and staghorn fern. Celebrity chef Jason Dady’s menu is spare but spot-on, with seasonal flavors always in mind. The Tuscan New York strip (large enough to share) is marinated such that the grilled crust has a caramelized crunch and a deep herbaceous flavor. Pair that with one of the house-made pastas and an antipasto of roasted golden beets and citrus and you’ll feel that you’ve experienced a work of art on par with what’s inside the museum (dine on Tuesday and you can visit the museum for free from 4 to 9).
