At Z-Counter the clientele runs the gamut: Navy pilots, A&M students, local artists, doctors. The self-described “Asian fusion” menu has equal range, with Korean, Vietnamese, Mexican, and American ingredients mixed and matched to good result. The fried egg atop the bibimbap did its job perfectly, with the yolk acting as a creamy sauce for the rice. The flavorful beef, though good on its own, was even better wrapped in thin, flaky pancakes, with a hefty sprinkling of green onions. Unexpectedly, the pork taco almost stole the show.
