Memorial Hermann Health System has been serving Greater Houston for nearly a century. But in 2020, serving our community has required more—and meant more—than ever before.
When COVID-19 first began to appear in the U.S., our vast workforce—which is 28,000 employees and more than 6,000 affiliated physicians strong—prepared to fight it. And they haven’t stopped since.
They have walked a tightrope, caring for patients while striving to protect themselves and their families from a virus that can be both deadly and invisible. They’ve gone to battle against COVID-19, donning their PPE like armor. And every day and night, in their masks and scrubs, they’ve stood between every frightened patient and the unknown.
We are astounded by the courageous work our employees and physicians do, and the passion they summon to do it. In the face of a worldwide pandemic, our healthcare providers stepped up because that’s what they do and who they are. They have chosen to dedicate their time and talents to serve each other and their fellow neighbors. There is no higher calling.
Memorial Hermann’s vision is to create healthier communities, now and for generations to come. Every day and night, even in perilous and uncertain times, we show up to achieve that goal for Greater Houston. And we always will.
