This spring, Houston-based parenting and lifestyle blogger Stacey traveled to Frisco with her family. Known for her “Soccer Mom Blog,” Stacey knows a thing or two about keeping a fast-paced family entertained. From taking in a baseball game, to having fun at Frisco’s numerous interactive museums, to dining at some of the town’s top restaurants, Stacey’s family trip to The City That Plays was one for the books. Check out her experience below.
When I told the girls about all the fun awaiting in Frisco, they couldn’t wait! Between the lazy river at the RoughRiders game to the interactive exhibits at KidZania, they were entertained all day. There’s plenty of fun for the adults too, not to mention luxurious lodging and delicious food.
We had a great time over the weekend, and we could have stayed so much longer. We’re already planning on coming back to see more. If you have a family who loves a vacation full of play, make sure Frisco is your next destination!
This was the first time our family has been to Frisco, TX but we will definitely be back. There is SO much to do for kids and families. We couldn’t fit it all in one weekend, but we sure tried!

Our suite at the Hyatt Regency Frisco was amazing. It was so comfortable that we almost didn’t want to leave…but we had a busy weekend ahead!
The view from the hotel was incredible. We could see the Frisco RoughRiders ballpark from our room.
Speaking of the RoughRiders, we went to see them play on our first night in town. This was the coolest ballpark I’ve ever been to, with a playground and lazy river inside!
We enjoyed a lot of snacks at the RoughRiders game, but the funnel cake fries were hands-down the favorite ballpark treat!
The girls were excited to meet two of the team mascots: Daisy and Deuce. They also bought plushies modeled after another team mascot: Brooks the service dog.
On Fireworks Friday, fans get to go down to the outfield at Riders Field to watch the show. The grass is so soft and it’s a great view.
The fireworks were awesome! What a way to end the evening and the girls’ first Minor League Baseball game.
Manee Thai Cuisine and Bar is a hidden gem; I think we almost tried the whole menu because everything sounded so good! The Pad Thai (pictured), Beef noodle soup, and Lao-style papaya salad were standouts.
We heard that Eggsquisite Cafe has the best gluten-free pancakes in town so we had to see for ourselves. They did not disappoint.
On Saturday we headed to KidZania, a huge indoor city where kids can role-play over 100 different occupations. It was right next to our hotel…so convenient.
The girls had so much fun at KidZania exploring and deciding which jobs to try! Oh, and earning “kidZos” to spend at the town’s department store.
The hair salon was one of our favorite stops. I loved watching the girls create fabulous hairdos!
At the fire station, the girls learned fire safety tips and even got to put out a fire with real water hoses.
The “Flower Power” appetizer at Mash’D is wow-worthy. A whole head of roasted cauliflower served with Texas hot honey and lemon aioli – even the kids loved it!
The food at Eggsquisite Cafe was so delicious that we went back the next morning too!
Soccer Mom at the National Soccer Hall of Fame – I didn’t realize it at the time, but I posed just like the CONCACAF trophies that are in the trophy cases in the hall.
I couldn’t resist celebrating a goal–how often do you get to cut loose like you just won the World Cup?
The weather was perfect so we made a quick stop at Hope Park to visit old friends who live in town. We can’t wait to go back to Frisco!
