Conveniently situated on I-45, adjacent to Conroe, Spring, and The Woodlands, Shenandoah provides a great value for those looking for a place to stay in the North Houston area. It also has a lot to offer for a city of its size—home to five shopping centers, several family-friendly entertainment venues, nearly 60 restaurants, and 12 quality hotels (a new 106-room Hampton Inn & Suites should open later this year, bringing our official hotel count up to 13), Shenandoah’s great amenities provide visitors with a variety of options when considering things to see and do, whether you’re looking for an afternoon excursion, weekend getaway, or extended stay.

Johnny’s Italian Steakhouse offers wonderful Italian dishes and a great bar, and is located inside Shenandoah’s Crowne Plaza hotel.

In Shenandoah, shopping choices abound with the city’s five retail shopping centers. Earlier this year, Portofino Shopping Center opened new Adidas and Cycle Gear stores, and a new J. Crew Factory, all new to our North Houston area.  Just up the road, at Metropark Square, a new Daiso store opened in October, 2022, and management has also announced several new restaurants and salons will be opening later this year (some which are listed below) – learn more at www.MetroparkSquare.com.

Additionally, Shenandoah is home to several family-owned specialty stores, including Picket Fences, Precision Camera and Video, and Bikeland and Bike Lane.  These stores provide their customers an incredible depth of knowledge, selection and service – and fall is a wonderful time to visit them and see what they have to offer, whether you’re looking for something to spruce up your home, capture family memories, or take advantage of the season and explore the outdoors on a new bike!

Shenandoah’s Picket Fences has an incredible breadth of merchandise, including a variety of food products and culinary items, that are sure to be used and enjoyed.

Foodies will appreciate the breadth of the city’s dining scene and restaurant offerings in Shenandoah.  Restaurateurs provide a variety of cuisines, dining experiences, and price points, whether you’re looking for something quick and casual, or a more sophisticated, fine dining adventure you might enjoy at Killen’s Steakhouse or Goode Co. Fish Camp, two concepts from the city’s two, twice-nominated, James Beard semifinalists, Ronnie Killen and Levi Goode.  Other recent restaurant openings include Califa’s Tacos and Beer, Graze Craze Charcuterie Boards & Boxes, Munch. Munch. Mochi Donut, Dessert and Tea, and the city’s two new premium ice cream shops, Surreal Creamery and The Dolly Llama Waffle Master.

Other concepts that have announced they will be coming to Shenandoah in 2023/2024 include Adriatic Café, Gloria’s Latin Cuisine, Kyu Ramen, TBaar and The Pho Fix.  These new dining and food-related establishments will continue to expand our already diverse offerings and enhance our food scene.

Califa’s Tacos & Beer is one of Shenandoah’s newest restaurants, and features a number of hand-crafted traditional Mexican and Cali-style tacos, burritos, and quesadillas.

Entertainment options include a state-of-the-art AMC cineplex with IMAX, Dave & Buster’s, Main Event and an Urban Air Trampoline and Adventure Park. When you’re looking for something fun for the entire family can enjoy together, these attractions provide great, family-friendly entertainment options year-round, as they’re all indoor and air conditioned – a nice feature given our Houston weather.

If you’re a big concert fan, then you will probably want to take in a concert at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion.  All our Shenandoah hotels are located just 1-3 miles of this incredible venue, and all provide great value, convenience and savings you can use during this inflationary period, whether for dining, entertainment or other needs.

Dave & Buster’s is always a great option when looking for fun things to do in Shenandoah—games, sports, and great food and drinks—what’s not to love?

If getting back to nature is more your style, Shenandoah and the surrounding area has options for that as well—outdoor enthusiasts can connect with nature as they explore the W.G. Jones State Forest or George Mitchell Nature Preserve, just minutes away, and Shenandoah’s City Park with its array of beautiful trees, outdoor play equipment, tennis and pickle ball courts, soccer field, and splash pad provides lots of amenities for individuals and families to enjoy.
