The Art Museum of South Texas (AMST) is an anchoring part of the vibrant arts community of Corpus Christi. Sitting on the edge of the Corpus Christi Bay, right along North Shoreline Boulevard are three stories of gallery space displaying a diverse permanent collection of more than 1,900 permanent works of art beautifully populated throughout the space. Delve into an afternoon discovering the arts this spring with a trip to AMST, where the arts of the Americas and the Texas region—from paintings, photographs, and sculptures to glass, ceramics, crafts, and large installation pieces—will captivate and surely leave you inspired.

Now through May 8, 2022, AMST is delighted to present the abstract work of 30 painters, sculptors, collage, mixed media, and installation artists from across the state of Texas in Texas Artists: Women of Abstraction.
With Dorothy Hood featured central to our examination, it is fitting to expand on what can be seen by her contemporaries working in the 40s, 50s, and 60s. These contemporary artists bring us further into new approaches, working with ideas, and using media in many different modes of making art, and in some cases, surprising materials!

From rotating exhibitions to a must-see permanent collection, the Art Museum of South Texas is a visual treat.
