Nothing says true love like an Onion Ring. And nothing’s better than celebrating life’s biggest moments with Whataburger.

That’s why Whataburger hosted weddings and vow renewals for some of their biggest fans at select restaurants across the great state of Texas this Valentine’s Day.

Out of thousands of entries, six couples were selected to tie the knot under the orange-and-white stripes of their favorite restaurant in Houston, San Antonio, Fort Worth, Corpus Christi, College Station, and Grand Prairie. Celebrations included everything from orange rose petals to an onion-ring bearer – and plenty of happy tears. When your love is as a big as a Bacon & Cheese Whataburger … where else would you go?

These ultimate Whatawedding experiences were planned by Whataburger and organized down to the smallest detail, with Whataburger providing the officiant, photographer, décor, a Dr Pepper toast, and of course – fresh, made-to-order food for the wedding guests! One of the six couples also enjoyed an even bigger prize – $5,000 to spend as they start their lives together. Hello, honeymoon!

Whatawedding highlights from Corpus Christi

“From engagement photos to wedding cakes and cookies – even late-night Honey Butter Chicken Biscuits for their guests – our fans have come up with really creative ways to include Whataburger in their big day,” says Donna Tuttle, Whataburger Group Director, Brand Communication. “Nothing says love at first bite like wedding bells at Whataburger.”

In addition to the six Whataweddings, hundreds of couples showed up to the same restaurants just hours later to share a #1 with their #1 and renew their vows! Among the happy couples? Houstonites Deborah and Donald Straitwell, who first tied the knot Feb. 14, 1976. Now, as they marked their 44th wedding anniversary (and countless Whataburger meals together), the couple was excited to bring together friends and family to celebrate their happiness. As Deborah puts it: “What better place than our hometown Whataburger?” After all, the next best thing to saying “We got married at Whataburger!” is saying “We got remarried at Whataburger!”
