What could possibly be as cute as two cuddling baby beavers? Oh, I don’t know, how about a bottle-fed baby bunny?Photograph by Elizabeth Gray
Humans weren’t the only Texans impacted by Harvey. Animals needed rescuing from the storm and ensuing flooding, too, and thankfully, professionals and volunteers stepped up to the plate for our furry friends. The Wildlife Center of Texas in Houston has responded to more than 1,000 rescue calls and has taken in more than 500 animals since the storm hit, caring for everything from baby squirrels to an endangered alligator snapping turtle.
Want to meet some more of the animals saved during Harvey? Of course you do. The following adorable photos and cute videos are courtesy of the Wildlife Center of Texas. Don’t miss the grand finale video, featuring two baby Texas squirrels wrasslin’. Yes, you heard us right.
Right here, it appears we have two baby beavers cuddling on a baby blue blanket. These fuzzballs are scientifically proven to make you feel warm and fuzzy inside. Also, look at that little baby beaver tail.

Look at this tiny squirrel getting his tiny little heart checked with a normal human-sized stethoscope. Hopefully this little guy’s ticker was ticking just fine, but I know mine is about to burst because of all the cuteness.

The only thing better than a baby opossum, of course, is THREE baby opossums. It’s the Three Amigopossums! The Three MusCUTEers! The three… uh… cute opossums. (Opossum puns are tough, OK?)

This fuzzy mallard duckling appears to be completely unfazed even though it had to be rescued from a deadly storm.

Harvey may have canceled classes, but that certainly didn’t stop this little Cooper's hawk from having his school portrait taken.

When it rains, rabbits get wet, and somehow look even cuter than they do dry.

WARNING: the following video contains graphic cuteness, because it shows two baby Texas squirrels wrasslin’ with each other. In the paper towel corner, weighing 3.2 ounces and hailing from Houston, Texas, the lightweight champeen of the squirrel world, Conor McGregawww! And in the corner with what looks like it maybe has peanuts in it, at 3.4 ounces and also from Houston, Fuzz Mayweather! Oh god, look at them flop around on that blanket. Down goes Furryazier! Down goes Furryazier! Too cute, both of them win. TKO.
